Q & A with Kaleidoscope's Property Manager


We sat down with Birchwood’s Property Manager, Amanda McCormick, to chat a little bit about Kaleidoscope!

Q: How long has Kaleidoscope been operating for?

A: We opened in 2013. It’s so nice to have a new rental building in the North West, so many in the area have been around since the 80’s and are really dated. We are less than 5 years old, and definitely have a more modern, stylish look.

Q:  What are some of your favorite things about Kaleidoscope?

A: There’s so much to love! The floor to ceiling windows let so much light in and make the suites feel really spacious and bright. The rooftop terrace is so nice in the summer – it’s a great spot to hang out with friends, read a book, and relax in the sun. We have a heated, secure underground parkade – you don’t have to worry about scraping snow off your car in the winter! All of the suites have stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, which is really nice to have. 

Q: What are some of the benefits to Kaleidoscope’s central location?

A: We’re right off Crowchild Trail, with really easy access to 16th Ave, Memorial, and Shaganappi. It’s so easy to get on the highway and head out to the mountains, and you can be downtown in 10 minutes. If you are a student, you can roll out of bed and walk to U of C in a few minutes. McMahon Stadium is right across the street, if you’re a CFL or Dinos football fan. We’re one block from the C Train station, and really close to a shopping center that has a Safeway, Starbucks, London Drugs, and several pubs, restaurants, and banks. It’s a great location – if you have a car, it’s a bonus, but you don’t need one!

Q: I see that there is a new café opening soon in the building!

A: Yes, Higher Ground is opening its second location very soon, on the main floor of Kaliedoscope! We’re really excited, their Kensington location is so popular and it will be a great asset to this neighborhood. It'll be so nice to have a coffee shop right in the building!

Q: What kind of support is available for tenants if they have a maintenance problem?

A: Our property management office is on site, so we are right here if something happens. We have our own maintenance staff, and they are really friendly, helpful, hardworking people who love to help our tenants.  For after hours concerns, we have a 24/7 emergency line, so you can always reach someone if you have an issue.

Q: Sounds great! What should someone do if they are interested in renting a suite?

A: Right now, we have a promo on where the rest of February is free – you can move in today! And this Saturday, February 18, we are having an open house from 12-4pm, where you can view a suite, see the building, and sign a lease. Our 2 bedroom suites are only $1125 a month, with a $500 security deposit, which is really competitive. We’d love to see some new faces this weekend and show them how much they will love Kaleidoscope! We are located at 2505 24 St NW.
